Richard Dismukes, M.S.

Mr. Dismukes has practiced as a professional counselor for over 25 years. He has supervised a group home, established therapeutic foster homes and directed a residential treatment center for children. He is currently director of Chrysalis: A Home for Girls, a consultant to several school districts and to two regional Head Start Programs and the Alabama Post Adoptions Connections Program. He frequently conducts workshops and training sessions related to foster care, behavior management, learning disorders, ADHD, therapeutic storytelling, adoption, anxiety and affective disorder.

 

Meet Mr. Dismukes

Mr. Dismukes has practiced as a professional counselor for over twenty-five years. He has served as the Director of a group home; two adolescent residential treatment centers, and a Therapeutic Foster Care Program in the Wiregrass Ares. He is a consultant for several school systems and Head Start Programs.   Mr. Dismukes frequently conducts workshops and training seminars related to behavior management, learning disorders, ADHD and special education services.

Interests include treatment of child and adult ADHD, learning disorders, child and adult depression and anxiety. He is experienced in treating adults, families and children using a variety of therapeutic techniques

Mr. Dismukes works with adults and children. Having practiced since 1981, he has a broad range of experience in treating various issues and/or disorders in the counseling field. He is a supervising counselor responsible for overseeing associate counselors and behavior specialist.
